In the lead-up to the Best School Cook Contest 2025, school cooks from across Tajikistan are coming together to learn, share, and inspire.
Knowledge-sharing sessions were recently held in four regions of the country, where past finalists of the competition met with this year’s applicants to exchange practical tips, experiences, and culinary advice. These sessions, jointly organized by the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI), created a unique space for peer learning and community building.
The initiative not only helped participants refine their skills and boost their confidence but also served a recognition of the past finalists’ continued contribution to improving school meals and inspiring others in their profession. It also strengthened the sense of solidarity among school cooks – who play a vital role in ensuring nutritious meals for children every day.
By connecting cooks from different districts, the sessions fostered a spirit of collaboration and laid the foundation for a growing culture of mentorship within the school cooks’ community. As the contest approaches, participants are now better prepared and more motivated than ever to showcase their talents on a national stage.
