World Food Programme (WFP)

The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization dedicated to fighting hunger and improving nutrition globally. Since 1999, WFP has supported the School Feeding Programme in Tajikistan, providing primary school children with hot, nutritious lunches. WFP's primary focus is on improving the quality of food and ensuring access to meals for schoolchildren, especially in vulnerable regions. In close partnership with the government, WFP is helping transit the programme to national funding by developing infrastructure, strengthening links between schools and local farmers, and enhancing sanitation conditions to create a sustainable school feeding system.


The Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI)

The Social and Industrial Foodservice Institute (SIFI) is a top Russian organization with extensive expertise in school and social catering. It designs innovative solutions to help enhance the quality of school meals, ensuring they are nutritious and accessible for every child. UNICEF

UNICEF, the United Nations Children's Fund, champions children's rights and promotes their well-being worldwide. Its core work areas include healthcare, education, nutrition, water access, and child protection.

In Tajikistan, UNICEF actively works to improve children’s health and nutrition by implementing projects that provide quality food and improve school sanitation. The organization also runs educational programmes for students and parents to foster awareness of healthy lifestyles. Collaborating closely with the Government of Tajikistan and other partners, UNICEF strives to ensure every child has access to nutritious food and a safe, supportive environment for growth and development.
 


International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD)

The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) is an international financial institution and a specialized agency of the United Nations that works to address poverty and hunger in rural areas of developing countries.

In Tajikistan, IFAD drives impactful projects that strengthen food security and support school feeding initiatives. IFAD ensures that schoolchildren receive fresh and nutritious meals by building local food production chains, training farmers in modern agricultural techniques, developing school infrastructure, and expanding schools' production capabilities. These efforts contribute to better health and enhanced learning experiences.
 


Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO)

The Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) is a specialized agency of the United Nations leading international efforts to defeat hunger. FAO's goal is to achieve food and security for all and make sure that people have regular access to enough high-quality food and lead active, healthy lives.

In Tajikistan, FAO actively supports child nutrition and health initiatives by assisting school meal programmes and educating farmers about sustainable agricultural practices. FAO’s initiatives have resulted in the construction of greenhouses in eight schools, enabling them to grow fresh vegetables and herbs year-round. These projects provide students with access to wholesome food, boosting their health and improving their learning environment.
